Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder
Are you or your child struggling with paying attention, controlling impulses, or staying still? Then you or your child may be struggling with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). People with ADHD experience one or more of the following issues: difficulty staying focused and paying attention, difficulty controlling behavior, and hyperactivity.
Treatment of ADHD focuses on relieving or reducing the symptoms of ADHD. I will work with you to develop new skills to help moderate the symptoms of ADHD. These skills may include learning new coping methods, improving problem solving skills, improving organization skills, learning ways to manage your emotions more effectively, and improving structure in your life. I believe that medication should only be used if your symptoms are not managed by these new skills. I recommend trying therapy initially and then evaluating later if medication should be added.
Please explore my website for more information about me and feel free to contact me if you would like to have a discussion about whether individual therapy is right for you.
